Before Carie Blow became the top Operations Manager (OM) with LA Fitness in the nation, she was a coach and mentor for children ages 4-14 while running one of the best Gymnastic academies in the United States. Blow claims that her professional success can be attributed to the experiences that she has had and the interactions she had encountered that led her to where she is today. Although communication is an everyday activity for the number one OM in the nation, the path to achieving her degree in the communication field did not prepare her for the types of interactions she faces on the job everyday, all of that she had to learn the hard way.

 

Countless mistakes and numerous lessons are what best prepared Blow for the day to day communication that happens in the top club in the nation. "You don't get to the top because someone puts you there, everyday you learn and adapt to being better- to being the greatest."

 

As Blow reminisces on her time at Victory Gymnastics Academy as the manager and one of the coaches, she pointed out that every child that walked into the gym on their first day was an average kid you find at an elementary school, but those who left VGA after successful years under Blow's wing went on to compete in college. Blow classified her duty at VGA as "the one who inspired greatness in those who were willing to work". Her process was to filter out those who could not handle high intensity situations and wanted to quit when things got tough. She explained that in order to be successful one must trust the people around them to inspire that greatness. This same philosophy she applies to her duties and her team at LA Fitness. 

 

Since leaving VGA, Carie Blow has inspired greatness in her new team at LA Fitness to be the top club in all fields-- cleanliness, membership appreciation, longest lasting members, most membership renewals, and fewest card declines. Each attribute to the overall success of the club, but Carie Blow added that she would not be the successful woman she is now without her team or the people who first inspired greatness in her.
